The Nido del Cóndor Resort & Spa is located in the town of San Carlos de Bariloche in Patagonia, Argentina, on the shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake with the most impressive view of the islands. Set on smooth slopes in landscaped gardens, it affords a scenic view of a cypress-tree forest against an Andean backdrop, covered with eternal snow. The Nido del Cóndor is close to ski resorts, area excursions and less than one kilometer from the most popular area beaches. It is minutes from downtown Bariloche and airport, and only a two-hour flight from Buenos Aires or Santiago de Chile.
The Resort boasts a heated outdoor pool and health club with whirlpool, sauna, Finnish sauna, Scottish showers, massage rooms and tanning beds, and the solarium offers a bar service for guests relaxing there. During the spring and summer, the Resort opens its "Gnomes Hut" situated in the nearby forest, with restaurant and games, with special activities for children.
In the afternoons, visitors can taste home-made pastries and cakes in the Resort's tearoom; lunch and dinner include regional delights such as wild game, fresh trout and salmon, as well as regional smoked cheeses. The chef is well known for freshly baked chicken pies, with forest mushrooms, or wild boar and cheese pastries. For those who might venture across the Resort's garden, the Patacón, one of the best restaurants of Bariloche, also serves up regional dishes, including the traditional grilled lamb.
The Nido del Cóndor Resort & Spa features an array of cabins, standard and luxury suites, junior suites and standard units. Surrounded by furnishings in wood and iron created by local craftsmen, guests can enjoy cable televisions with videocassette recorders, whirlpool bathtubs, Internet access, fireplaces, minibars and storage areas for their fishing and skiing gear.
