<b>Location.</b> The elegant Marqueen Hotel is conveniently situated in the vibrant Queen Anne District, two blocks from the Seattle Center. This bustling neighborhood is also home to the Theatre District and the Key Arena, home to the Seattle Supersonics. The Space Needle is a half mile from the hotel with the Monorail located about a block closer, making it easy to get around town. <br><br><b>Hotel Features</b> Erected in 1918, the historic building exudes European charm and sophistication. The lobby features original terrazzo floors and mahogany wainscoting along with a wide, sweeping staircase. A variety of health and beauty services are available at the spa and there is a small fitness center on-site. Evening wine receptions occur twice a week in the lobby, and the hotel is home to an established restaurant and a popular bakery/espresso bar. Same-day laundry and dry cleaning service is available, as is complimentary overnight shoeshine service. <br><br><b>Guestrooms.</b> Each of the rooms at the Marqueen features ten-foot ceilings, live plants, area rugs, hardwood floors and cherry-finish Queen Anne-style furnishings. Large windows look out onto the surrounding neighborhood or a wall painted with a beautiful garden mural. Tile bathrooms come with terry velour robes and fluffy towels. Complimentary high-speed Internet access is available and each unit has cable television with premium channels. Kitchenettes with refrigerators, microwave ovens, coffeemakers and utensils are also standard. <br><br><b>Expert Tip.</b> A great way to spend a day is at the Experience Music Project, a very unique museum dedicated to the history of the Northwest rock scene. This brainchild of Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen, designed by Frank Gehry, features many interactive exhibits and regular concerts. Each visitor is issued a Museum Exhibit Guide (MEG), a hand-held electronic device with recorded audio clips explaining the various exhibits.
