<b>Location.</b> Miller Tree Inn in Forks, Wash., is just fifteen miles from the Pacific Ocean on the west side of the Olympic Peninsula. Olympic National Forest, which contains the Hoh Rain Forest, Quinalt Rain Forest, and Hurricane Ridge within its borders, is five miles away. From October through the end of April, the Inn becomes a haven for fishermen pursuing steelhead and salmon in the five local rivers nearby.<br><b>Hotel Features.</b> The Miller Tree Inn, a historical farmhouse on the original Peterson homestead, has been accommodating guests for over 20 years. There is an eight-person hot tub on the back deck and a lawn where the innkeepers serve lemonade. Two living rooms, one with a television and books, and the other with a piano and board games, are available for lounging. A full complimentary breakfast includes fresh fruit, cereal and pastry bar, and a hot entrée, with possibilities including savory Italian eggs, caramel-peach French toast, or gingerbread pancakes with lemon sauce. From October through April, pre-dawn breakfasts are served to fishing guests, and other early risers. Coffee and cookies are available throughout the day.<br><br> <b>Guestrooms.</b> Guestrooms at the Miller Tree Inn feature private bathrooms, and wireless DSL Internet access is now available throughout the house. Some rooms have gas fireplaces, two-person jetted tubs, microwaves and televisions with VCRs.<br><br><b>Expert Tip.</b> Travelers will find the northwest entrance to Olympic National Park's 57 miles of Pacific coastline at Lake Ozette 24 miles away. A nine-mile triangular trail allows hikers to catch glimpses quite often of seals, deer, eagles and sometimes osprey, sea otters and whales.<br><br>

654 East Division Street, Forks, Wash.<br> From William R Fairchild International Airport:<br> Depart the airport and follow the signs to I-5 S (Portland).<br> Follow I-5 S to the Hwy 16 (Bremerton).<br> Exit near Tacoma, and follow 16 N, which will become Highway 3 near Bremerton. <br> Continue following 3 North, bypassing Bremerton, Silverdale and Poulsbo, until reaching the stoplight at the Hood Canal Bridge.<br> Turn left at the stoplight, crossing the bridge and continuing west on Hwy 104 until it merges with Hwy 101.<br> Follow 101 W to Port Angeles, then turn left at the bottom of the hill onto N Lincoln St (still 101).<br> Continue to follow Highway 101 west, then south, for 55 miles.<br> In Forks, turn left at the stoplight onto E Division St, then travel 6.5 blocks to the big white farmhouse on the right. |
