<b>Location.</b> This historic inn sits at the base of Mount Mansfield in the tiny rural village of Jeffersonville, Vt., just three miles from the family-friendly Smuggler's Notch Ski Resort. The entire village of Jeffersonville, featuring antique dealers, old family farms, and covered bridges, is on the National Register of Historic Places, and Smuggler's Notch Inn is in the midst of it all.<br><b>Hotel Features.</b> Smuggler's Notch Inn, built in the 1790's, was renovated in 2005, but retains classic New England style. The inn features eleven rooms, a 65-seat dining room, full service bakery, and a tavern. A complimentary assortment of baked goods is available each morning in the bakery. Offerings include cinnamon rolls with maple frosting, freshly baked muffins and breads. In lieu of a served breakfast, guests will receive a gift card good toward the purchase of a meal. Lunch and dinner are available at the inn's own restaurant. Inn amenities include a hot tub, fireplace, deck suitable for sun bathing and a TV room.<br><br><b> Guestrooms.</b> Each of the eleven rooms at the inn has been renovated and decorated in rich New England colors and fabrics. All guestrooms have a private bath with jetted tub. Each has a view of the mountains and a private living/dining area.<br><br><b>Expert Tip.</b> Smugglers' Notch is infamous as the route smugglers used to carry contraband and other goods to Canada in the early 1800s. It was also used by fugitive slaves escaping to Canada, and as a popular route for smuggling liquor during Prohibition.
