| Area Attractions
Chester is set in one of the most scenic parts of Vermont and no matter what time of year you come to visit, there is always something to do. Some of Vermont's best trophy trout fishing exists in the nearby Black River, and if you want to try bigger fish, the Connecticut River is just minutes away. There are five top-notch golf courses just a short drive away, two of which are championship 18-hole layouts. Shopping at fine boutiques and antique shops is everywhere you look, while a major outlet center is a half-hour to the west. In the fall, southern Vermont is famous for the best color in the Green Mountains. In winter, the Okemo, Killington, Stratton, Bromley, Ascutney, and Magic ski resorts are all nearby. Plus, five outstanding Nordic and snowshoe centers, as well as sleigh rides through the snow, are only a phone call away. During any time of the year, dining choices run the gamut, from five-star, award-winning restaurants to classic country diners. And, the Chester green, with its many fine shops and restaurants, is within walking distance. |
