Location. Taking its name from the mighty Columbia River, the Columbia Gorge Hotel is perched atop a bluff, proudly overlooking North America's second largest river by volume. The Township of Hood River is also recognized around the world as being the birthplace and premier spot for windsurfing. First developed in 1904 and recently restored to its original grandeur, this historic Oregon property has hosted several U.S. Presidents, celebrities and international dignitaries.
