This spacious 1850 home is furnished with family photos, locally handcrafted furniture, and antiques, including an 1875 pump organ. Enjoy rest and relaxation on the grand porch with rocking chairs and swings overlooking the picturesque tree lined street. In the parlor every evening guests are cordially invited to join other guests for a complimentary social hour where wine, juice and soft drinks are offered along with the friendly conversation, warmth and hospitality that keeps guests wanting to come back time and time again. Port and Sherry are available at bedtime. In the morning you awaken to tantalizing aromas from the kitchen. Breakfast is a time for socializing in the formal dining room, where the food is set out on a different hot dish on the Empire sideboard each day. The Harmony House Inn is conveniently located within walking distance to quaint shops, fine dining restaurants, many historic sites, highlighted by Tryon Palace and its formal gardens.
All rooms have the same first-class amenities: Remote Controlled Color TV with cable, private telephones, two comfortable sitting chairs and a dresser and closet. All rooms have ceiling fans with lights and all bathrooms are located in the room or suite. Each room also features a handmade cross- stitch pattern from the innkeeper that she personally picked for that room. Rooms also include air-conditioning, alarm clock radio, ceiling fan, and smoke detectors. |

Guests can catch a glimpse of the area with a tour of New Bern's past, which includes Tyron Palace & Gardens, John Wright Stanly House, and the New Bern Academy Museum. Guests can also walk along the Neuse River, spend the day antique shopping, golf, hike, sail away on a lazy river, or visit the beach where there is white sand, dolphins, and sport fishing. Other activities include sailing, surfing, swimming, biking, dining, and resting in parks. |

215 Pollock Street, New Bern, NC - From Raleigh/Durham Airport: Exit onto Airport Drive. Merge onto I-40 east via the ramp on the left towards Raleigh. Merge onto US-70 East via Exit 306 towards Clayton/Smithfield/Goldsboro. Follow US-70 east all the way to New Bern taking the 70 Bypass roads around Goldsboro and Kinston. Take the US-70- BR/NC-55 west exit, 417, towards New Bern. Merge onto US-70 BR west. Cross Trent River Bridge and turn left on the second street, Pollock Street. Harmony House Inn is half way up the first block on the left. |
