The Bell House Bed and Breakfast is located in Columbia County in the historic Hudson Valley. Situated in the beautiful Taconic Mountains, the inn is a gracious 19th century home built in 1830 by the Bell family who resided there for generations. Set on four acres and carefully restored in recent times, the inn offers guests a rural setting of picturesque charm. Warm and inviting, the house has comfortable rooms furnished with antiques, as well as all modern amenities. Overlooking beautiful perennial gardens, mature plantings and stately trees, guests can enjoy the swimming pool on a hot summer day or relax on the covered wrap-around porch or the brick terrace overlooking the garden. One can stroll to town, or walk or bicycle on nearby lanes or browse through Red Fox Antiques, located on the grounds. Bask in the warmth of the fireplace, curl up with a book, play the piano or listen to music on a cool autumn or winter night in the comfortable living room or library. Full gourmet breakfasts are served in the beamed-ceiling dining room, covered porch which wraps around the house, or in good weather, on the secluded brick terrace overlooking the secluded perennial gardens and barns.

Hike at Bash Bish Falls, Mt. Washington and Taconic State Park, and enjoy other outdoor activities, such as biking on the Harlem Rail Trail, hiking on Monument Mountain, horseback riding at nearby stables, and golfing at many golf courses in the area. Enjoy the New York and Massachusetts winter skiing at Catamount, Butternut and Jiminy Peak, both downhill and cross-country. Cultural attractions throughout the year include the Tanglewood Music Festival, the Berkshire Choral Festival, Shakespeare & Co. Theatre, Jacob's Pillow, Norman Rockwell Museum, Three Shaker Villages, Olana-home of Frederick Church, the Berkshire Theater Festival, or spend the day searching for antiques, a favorite pastime in the Berkshires. |

9315 State Route 22, Hillsdale, NY - From Albany International Airport: Depart the airport heading Southeast and merge onto I-87 South. Continue for 2.6 miles on I-87 South then take the I-90 East/I87 South/I-90 West Exit, Exit 1, toward Albany/Boston/New York/Buffalo/New York Thruway. Merge onto the New York State Triway South/I-87 South via Exit 1W toward New York/Buffalo/New York Thruway (Portions toll) and continue for 14.8 miles. Take Exit 21A toward I-90 East/Massachusetts Turnpike/Boston. Merge onto New York State Triway East (Portions toll) and continue for 14.7 miles. Merge onto Taconic State Parkway South via Exit B2 toward RT-295 (Portions toll) and continue for 16.5 miles. Take the RT-23 ramp toward Claverack/Hillsdale. Keep left at the fork in the ramp. Stay straight to go onto NY-23 and continue for 7.2 miles. Turn left onto NY-22 and continue until you reach the property. |
