Casa Escondida (the "hidden house") is a secluded and serene bed & breakfast that is nestled on six acres in the awe-inspiring mountains of northern New Mexico. A full, hot breakfast is included each morning and is served in our breakfast room where the morning sun filters through the many surrounding French doors. You can look forward to completing your day with a relaxing soak in the outdoor hot tub. The bed & breakfast was built in the "Spanish colonial adobe style" of architecture that is typical of northern New Mexico. This is somewhat akin to a southwest country inn. Architectural elements, such as kiva fireplaces, wooden tongue & groove ceilings, Saltillo tile floors and wooden vigas, all add to the warmth and rustic charm of Casa Escondida. Set aside some time to appreciate the slow-paced, serenity of the secluded bed & breakfast, where you can linger over the morning newspaper in the cozy living room or savor a cup of tea in the sunny breakfast room or perhaps they will find you simply whiling away some time on the front porch. The living room provides a warm & comfortable gathering place. Enjoy a cozy fire, swap stories with the other guests, peruse the travel book library, listen to music or simply sit & relax. The serenity of Casa Escondida is truly enhanced by the fact that they have no TVs.<br><br>
The Casa Escondida has 8 intimate and comfortable guest rooms (all with private baths) that are filled with handpicked antiques and accented in a rustic southwest style. Some rooms offer amenities such as an antique wood stove, private patios, fireplaces, private decks or oversized bathtubs. Four of our eight guest rooms are pet friendly. **Premium standard rooms and suites are pet friendly. A charge of $15 per pet per night will be collected at check in.** |

| Area Attractions
The village of Chimayo provides our guests with a truly authentic northern New Mexico experience. We invite you to visit our famous church (the Santuario de Chimayo) that is known for its miraculous healings. In addition, our local weaving shops are internationally known for their fine work. Due to the central location, all of the following are easily accessible from Casa Escondida: Santa Fe, Taos, Pecos National Park, Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs, Georgia O'Keeffe Country, Bandelier National Park, and all 8 of the northern New Mexico Indian Pueblos. Downhill and cross- country ski areas, horseback riding, rafting, hot-air ballooning, train rides, fishing, bird watching, mountain biking, casinos, horse racing, polo matches, ruins and concerts. | Driving Directions
64 County Road 0100, Chimayo, NM - Albuquerque International Sunport Airport: Depart airport going East on Sunport Boulevard, which becomes Sunport Loop Southeast. Stay straight to go onto Sunport Boulevard East. Merge onto I-25 North toward I-40/Downtown & Santa Fe and continue on I-25 North for 60 miles. Just South of Santa Fe, merge onto Highway 599 North. Take Highway 599 North to Highway 84/285 North (towards Espanola). Then turn right onto 503 East (towards Nambe). Travel approximately seven miles. Then turn left on Highway 98. Stay on Highway 98 until it ends (3.5 miles). Then turn left onto Highway 76. Travel 1/3 mile to County Road0100 (the first road on the right). Then make a hard right (almost a U turn) onto Country Road 0100 (just past Trujillo's Weaving). Travel approximately 1/4 mile and you will see a sign for the property. Turn left at the sign, follow driveway.<br><br> |
