This delightful 1902 English Manor style home, with acres of lush lawns and gardens, provides guests with easy elegance and a comfortable and homey atmosphere. Looking for a romantic Victorian getaway or an adventurous getaway? Stay at the Goddard Mansion and spend the days just sitting on the porch looking at the mountains, hike or ski down those same slopes, (depending on the season), or simply relax and cuddle with that special someone. Go to bed at night in these invigorating rooms and wake up refreshed and ready for the day. Start the day with a wonderful complimentary breakfast, chit chat with other guests, and then head outside for the day's adventures. Guests can take relaxing strolls through the gardens, head to the beach for some fun in the sun, or grab a book and read in the common library. In the afternoon, stick around the mansion for some refreshments, then head to the community center to swim in either the outdoor pool on those warm summer days or the indoor pool for those rainy or cooler days. Guests of the mansion can also take full advantage of the game room, the laundry facilities on premise, the common sitting room, and the fireplace, whose embers emit a welcoming glow and a toasty, warm room.<br><br>
Step back into time with these enchanting treasures of rooms. Each room comes with a window unit air conditioning, alarm clock radio, daily newspaper, hair dryer, and smoke detectors. In the evening, guests can relax in their rooms, munching on the sweets that were left at turndown. Some rooms even come with cable TV and a CD player/stereo so they can drift off to sleep listening to quiet music. All rooms come with complimentary coffee and some rooms even have a coffeemaker so guests can have coffee as early as they want on those early mornings. | Area Attractions
The surroundings of the Goddard Mansion offers guests plenty to do on any day of the week. Near Mt. Sunapee to the east and Mt. Ascutney to the west, the mansion has wonderful views that offer guests a relaxing and peaceful place to rest. There are many outdoor activities visitors can take part in such as canoeing, boating, fishing, hiking, and golfing all at the Connecticut River Valley. Other areas of interest are St. Gaudens National Historic Site, Simon Pearce glass blowing, the Cornish-Windsor covered bridge, the Fort at No.4, and the Claremont Opera House. Visitors can also take part in hang gliding, horseback riding, hot air-ballooning, kayaking, parasailing, and miniature golfing. |

| Driving Directions
25 Hillstead Road - From Boston Airport: Take I-93 north from Route 128. Just a few miles from the Hookset toll station, exit onto I-89 north. Take Exit 9 in Warner and bear right onto Route 103 west. Continue on Route 103 past Sunapee State Park, through Newport and into Claremont. Remain in the right lane until the Tremont Square (small rotary). Take Pleasant Street (it looks like it could be called Main Street) to the third light. Diagonally on the left, past the light, there will be the mansion. Take Hillstead Road to the entrance. |
