Property Info
Location. The first casino built on the block, Flamingo Las Vegas has anchored the Strip since the dice started rolling in 1946. Founded by the infamous Bugsy Siegel, this property has been completely renovated, and began the era of mega-resorts that now populate Las Vegas. Positioned four miles from Mccarran International Airport, the Flamingo is near many popular attractions, including the Guggenheim Hermitage Museum and the Las Vegas Convention Center. Hotel Features. The 77,000-square-foot casino offers the quintessential Vegas experience: a variety of table games, 2,100 slots, and four shows, including Gladys Knight appearing in her own theater. Guests create soothing afternoons in the Flamingo's pool area - said to be the largest in Vegas. The 15-acre garden is punctuated by a 150-foot water slide and breezy palm trees that accent waterfalls, lagoon pools, and a meticulously groomed landscape inhabited by Chilean Flamingos and African penguins. Five pools are augmented with two spa tubs, wet bars and a seasonal poolside restaurant. The hotel's showcase Flamingo Room is virtually a rite of passage among Las Vegas culinary aficionados. Other property amenities include conference rooms, banquet facilities, a business center, a fitness center and a full-service health spa.
Guestrooms. The guestrooms are intimately arranged with spacious furniture ensembles, contemporary design and massive windows that lend romantic views of Sin City's metropolitan charm. Standard guestrooms come equipped with couches, arm chairs and desks, and include amenities such as Internet access, satellite television, in-room safes and voicemail.
Expert Tip. Aside from Bugsy's Bar, little remains of the Flamingo's origin as a Mob-operated resort for high rollers and Hollywood elite. Outside the on-site wedding chapel's central garden, however, a plaque marks the site of the original hotel and provides a witty description of Bugsy Siegel's Flamingo suite and his sensational murder.
