The Hawthorne House Bed & Breakfast, located in the small western town of Polson, Mont., offers a wonderful view of Flathead Lake and the Mission Mountains. Situated on a quiet shady street, just one block from the shores of Flathead Lake, the Hawthorne House welcomes weary travelers. Scenic boat rides and white-water rafting are among the local activities. Swimming and parks are within walking distance.<br> This two-story English Tudor House with seven gables expresses a diversity of cultures. The house features a cozy living room with television and VCR, a music room with a piano, antiques passed down through the generations, plate collections, a hat collection and Indian artifacts. In one room is a richly beaded jacket and gloves that are among one of the innkeeper's most treasured antiques. <br><br> Guests will enjoy the celebrated breakfasts around a big, friendly oak table. A full breakfast is available for a fee. The coffee pot is always on.<br><br>The Hawthorne House has four rooms with two shared bathrooms. All rooms are furnished with family heirlooms. The Oak Bedroom contains a suite of golden oak furniture from 1896.<br><br>This charming, historic house offers a relaxing retreat close to all of the local attractions.
