A short thirty-mile drive up the Gunflint Trail from Grand Marais, guests will find this exciting new lodging experience. Perched on a glacial esker, the Poplar Guesthouse offers a dramatic view of Little Ollie Lake and Poplar Creek below. All the furnishings and decor of the inn have been inspired by and have a mission style theme. The Poplar Guesthouse features a housekeeping suite for those looking for extended stays and bed and breakfast accommodations for overnight guests. The Bed and Breakfast rooms feature a mouth-watering breakfast each morning, including fresh fruit, main dish and a dessert, served with a Northwoods touch. After eating the hearty meal, guests are welcome to explore the outside by wandering through the gardens for a peaceful time or just by relaxing on the outdoor sundeck with a good book and a refreshing drink. Take a break from being outdoors and head inside to mingle with other guests in the common sitting room or plop down on a comfortable sofa and just unwind. Guests of the inn will find it a very relaxing and charming place for their vacation.<br><br>
The Poplar Guesthouse offers bed and breakfast guestrooms and a housekeeping suite. Each wonderful room comes with an alarm clock radio, ceiling fan, desk, telephone, hair dryer, and smoke detectors. Guests can relax after a fun day by sipping on a cup of complimentary coffee that was brewed from the coffeemaker in the room while mingling in the living/dining room with family. Some rooms come with a balcony/patio, cable TV, fireplace, and a kitchenette. Enjoy the outdoors, sun, and the smell of fresh air while staying at The Poplar Creek Guesthouse. Visitors will not be bored when visiting the area since there are things to do such as biking, fishing, hiking, and skiing in the winter time. In the summer time, visitors can go on a guided day canoe trip, for an extra fee, and paddle to the famous Rose Lake Stairway Portage and Falls. High above Rose Lake is a spectacular view of the lake below and Canada to the north. The trip includes a canoe, guide, and lunch. Visitors can also sightsee, visit national parks, tour historic sites, and dine at fine restaurants for entertainment.<br><br> |

Turn west up the Gunflint Trail, then drive 29 miles to the Lima Grade and make a left turn. Travel one mile and turn right at the Little Ollie Road and drive one mile to the inn. |
