<b>Location.</b> Just outside of metropolitan St. Paul, the Afton House Inn Bed and Breakfast is an historic property located in the town of Afton, Minnesota. The inn was constructed in 1867 overlooking the St. Croix River on the Minnesota-Wisconsin border. Plenty of recreation is available in the area, including river cruises, hot-air balloon rides and skiing at nearby Afton Alps Recreation Area. The Mall of America, the largest mall in the country, is 23 miles away and features an indoor amusement park. The area also plays host to one-of-the-most active theater and fine art communities in the world. In the Twin Cities galleries, theaters, shopping, dining and nightlife all exist in abundance.<br><b>Hotel Features.</b> The property is furnished with antique décor and exudes a relaxing old- world aura. Two dining areas allow for casual or fine dining and the inn provides a continental breakfast each morning. The Catfish Saloon and Café offers casual fare and features a top deck which looks out onto the river and can be rented for private parties. Two conference rooms are also located on site. <br><br><b>Guestrooms.</b> Each of the units features unique décor and amenities. Deluxe rooms have jetted tubs and balconies with river views. Some suites have fireplaces. <br><br><b>Expert Tip.</b> The Walker Art Center and the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden are located in Minneapolis, about 20 miles from the inn. Edgy, contemporary art can be found at the center, while a variety of 20th-century sculpture and horticulture is on display at the garden.
