The historic town of Allegan, MI, is just ten minutes away. Wonderful hometown diners, cafe's, and fine-dining eateries add to the unique, small- town experience. Every adventure will lead you through scenic countryside. Visit the many festivals, arts and craft shows, and antique markets that make every week of the year memorable. Antique shoppers will enjoy browsing through some of the best shopping spots in Michigan, including the April- September antique market held on the last Sunday of each month at the Allegan Country Fairgrounds. Your innkeepers are antique dealers and would love to help you find that elusive item to add to your collection at a price that may seem like a steal. There are many other antique shopping venues they can recommend. Ski downhill at two of the area's best slopes. Both Bittersweet and Timber Ridge ski areas are within a very short drive. Nature is never closer than the Allegan State Game Area, with over 50,000 acres of untouched forested wilderness that offers miles of cross-country skiing, hiking and mountain biking trails and access to the Kalamazoo River, perfect for a serene kayak or canoe trip. Michigan Dept. of Natural Resources Maps are available here, but be sure to ask about recommendations and hunting season restrictions. Many visitors also enjoy the nearby Kal- Haven Trail, a 33-mile rails-to-trails pathway connecting the cities of Kalamazoo and South Haven. |

| Driving Directions
340 M-40 S, Allegan, MI - From Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport: Depart the airport heading North on Portage Road, which will become Portage Street. Turn right onto East Kilgore Road. Merge onto I-94 West toward Chicago and continue for 3.9 miles. Merge onto US-131 North via Exit 74B toward Grand Rapids and continue for 4.5 miles. Take the M-43 West exit - Exit 38B - toward South Haven. Merge onto MI-43 and continue for 11.1 miles. Turn right onto MI-40 and continue for 10 miles until you reach the property. |
