<b>Location.</b> Enjoying a picturesque New England setting, Emerson Inn By The Sea overlooks Cape Ann and the waters of the Atlantic in Rockport, Massachusetts. Less than one mile from beautiful Halibut Point State Park and 40 miles from Boston, the inn is conveniently located for exploration of the surrounding area. A narrow peninsula dubbed Bearskin Neck, two miles from the inn, has an amazing array of gift shops mixed in with galleries, antique shops and eateries. <br><b>Hotel Features.</b> This elegant bed and breakfast has a turn-of-the-century ambiance that reflects the serenity of a bygone era. Rocking chairs look out onto the ocean from the inn's veranda. The inn also has a large seasonal salt-water pool which produces fantastic reflections during the evening. A full country-style breakfast is served May through October, with a deluxe continental breakfast served the remainder of the year. Other amenities include laundry service and a business center. The Grand Cafe is an award-winning restaurant with spectacular oceanfront views and live piano music, serving classic and creative cuisine. The cafe is open all year, however, days and hours vary by season. <br><br><b>Guestrooms.</b> The guest accommodations are furnished with period reproductions. Each room has a private bathroom. The deluxe king bedrooms feature an ocean view and a jetted tub. Cable television is standard in each room. <br><br><b>Expert Tip.</b> A barn-red shack on the town wharf, dubbed Motif No. 1 by famed illustrator Lester Hornby, is thought to be the most frequently painted and photographed building in the country.

1 Cathedral Avenue, Rockport, Mass. <br> From Boston/Logan International Airport: <br> Take Route 1A North to Route 60 West. <br> From Route 60 West to Route 1 North onto Route 128 North. <br> Follow Route 128 through two rotaries and turn left onto Route 127 North at the traffic light. <br> Continue approximately 4 miles (staying on Route 127). <br> Take a sharp left at Rockport's five corners (remaining on Route 127). <br> Follow signs to Pigeon Cove. <br> Continue approximately 2 miles and turn right onto Phillips Avenue at the Emerson Inn Sign. Approximate driving time is 67 minutes and distance is 40 miles. |
