Steeped in the New England tradition of the Whaling Ship Captains' Homes, the Shiretown Inn is located on lovely North Water Street in the Historic District of Edgartown. The inn is one block from Chappaquiddick Ferry, the wharf and harbor, and just a short stroll to shops, restaurants, galleries, museums and public beaches. <br> Contemporary amenities complement original architectural detail, providing guests with a historic environment surrounded by modern conveniences. Guests can lounge in lush, private gardens and experience the same haven that once welcomed sea-weary whaling captains back to shore. <br><br> Secluded in a lovely private garden is the new deluxe hot tub. During the spring, summer, and fall months, a delicious continental breakfast is served each morning in the restaurant terrace area and outside garden patio. The Shiretown Inn's Restaurant is well known for outstanding cuisine and fine service. With seating on the enclosed covered garden terrace or in the intimate dining room, it is a wonderful place to enjoy your meal. The Pub offers an excellent selection of fine liquors, blended drinks, and specialty coffees. <br><br> The Shiretown Inn accommodations are comprised of two antique whaling captains' homes, The Captain Mayberry House and the Captain Worth House built in 1795, The Guest House, the newly constructed Sharon House, and the economical Coach Rooms. All rooms and suites have cable television, telephones, air-conditioning, hairdryers, irons and boards. Some rooms feature private decks, patios and views of the beautiful gardens at Shiretown. Luxury rooms also contain DVD players and working fireplaces.
