A neoclassical Greek Revival gem, this house is over 100 years old and started out as a country estate. Today it is set in an urban landscape with world renowned universities, museums, and restaurants nearby. Guests can relax in this casual, elegant home that has beautiful rooms that feature four poster beds and cannonball beds. Guests can wake up in the morning to the lovely aroma of breakfast being served in the parlor by a warm fire or in the sun-filled conservatory. During the summer, enjoy breakfast on the outdoor sundeck at an umbrella-covered table surrounded by flowering hibiscus trees, morning glories, sunflowers, and a variety of flowering trees and plants, then head out for their adventures. In the afternoon, arrive back at the inn for cookies, tea, and homemade jam from 4-7 PM. | Area Attractions
The Mary Prentiss Inn is set in an urban landscape with universities, museums, theaters, shops, and restaurants footsteps away. The Inn is conveniently located just off Massachusetts Avenue between Harvard Square and Porter Square. Boston and other in-town locations are within easy access via the T (red line subway) with stations close to the inn at Harvard Square and Porter Square. In addition, historic Concord is an easy ride from Porter Square via the commuter rail. While at the Mary Prentiss Inn, guests will be staying in a house whose family was a part of Cambridge history. Walk through the Historic Old Burying Ground in Harvard Square and find the Prentiss ancestors who were among the founding families in Cambridge in the 1600s. Visit historic Christ Church and see the bullet hole made by a soldier during the Revolutionary War. Walk through Harvard Square and see the historic buildings of Harvard and keep with tradition by rubbing the toe of the John Harvard statue for good luck. |

6 Prentiss Street, Cambridge, MA - From Logan Airport: Take Sumner Tunnel to 193 north. Exit at Storrow Drive west. Follow signs for Newton and Arlington. Exit at Harvard Square. Cross the bridge to JFK Street. Drive through Harvard Square to Massachusetts Avenue (north, toward Porter Square). One-half mile down, take a right turn on Garfield Street. Then make a left onto Oxford Street, and then a left onto Prentiss Street. The Mary Prentiss Inn is the first house off Massachusetts Avenue. |
