Experience the olden days in this 1897 Colonial Revival home. Close to Harvard Square, this affordable, elegant inn is near museums, theaters, restaurants. It offers fresh flowers, antiques strewn throughout, and great, comfortable beds that guests will drift away in. In the morning, guests will wake up to the delicious aroma of a breakfast being cooked and waiting for them to enjoy. After the hearty meal, they can head on down to the public health club for swimming and weight lifting or guests can just relax at the inn and rock in grandmother rocking chairs, grab a book from the library of history in the inn, or pick up some tourist literature in the common room. Guests can relax outside and feel the breeze in their hair when they sit on the porch that lays among the trees. The inn is just as spectacular indoors as it is outdoors. Antiques, lace curtains, over stuffed chairs, antique writing desks, Oriental rugs and original paintings all help to create a feeing of warmth and passion from the 1800's.<br><br>
Relax in these comfortable and blissful rooms decorated just right. Guests will feel right at home and may never want to leave their rooms. All rooms come with air-conditioning, alarm clock radio, cable TV, desk, telephone with voicemail, Internet access, modem/data port, and smoke detectors. For the active visitor, try outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, golfing, and fishing. For more extreme sports, try kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, and windsurfing. | Driving Directions
1657 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, MA - From Logan Airport: Exit the airport. Turn left (south) toward Boston through the tunnel ($3 toll). At the tunnel exit, keep in the left lane and take the second right to the expressway north (I-93). Exit the expressway at Storrow Drive. At the end of the ramp, turn left and follow Storrow Drive along the left (south) side of the Charles River four miles to the Harvard Square exit. Cross the Charles River and continue. At the Harvard Square exit from Storrow Drive (on the south side of the Charles River) and the Harvard Square sign from Memorial Drive (on the north side of the Charles), take J. F. Kennedy Street two blocks to the center of Harvard Square. Driving through the Square, the Harvard Coop is on the left, and the T (subway) stop and Out Of Town News kiosk are on the right. Bear right around Harvard Yard; go through the underpass staying in the left lane, passing the fire station on the right. Go straight up Cambridge Street, three short blocks to the inn, a three story yellow wood building on the left, directly across from the large trees on your right. Parking is available. Pass the inn and turn left on Trowbridge Street. Parking is in the gravel drive on the left, immediately after the house on the corner and before the entrance to 77 Trowbridge Street. Park on the left side only please. |
