Location. Guests staying at the Chateau Sonesta in New Orleans' French Quarter are just steps from Bourbon Street. This hotel is five blocks from Harrah's casino. Jackson Square and Café du Monde are both within one mile of the hotel.
Hotel Features. Formerly a department store for 140 years, the Chateau Sonesta has preserved its pre-Civil War origins. Alabaster pillars from the department store's original soda fountain, marble floors, the courtyard's cypress exposed beams and the famous Clock, which still hangs from its perch on Canal Street, all adorn this historic hotel. The Chateau Sonesta is home to one of the city's most popular restaurants, Ralph Brennan's Red Fish Grill, which serves signature dishes such as coconut- crusted shrimp. American-style breakfasts are served at the hotel's La Chatelaine. After a day of sightseeing, guests unwind in the Clock Bar for cocktails and conversation.
