<b>Location.</b> One block from Louis Armstrong Park, at the edge of the French Quarter, the New Orleans Guest House is a wonderful bed and breakfast in New Orleans, Louisiana. The French Quarter fared better than many other areas of the city during Hurricane Katrina, suffering mostly rain and wind damage. Bourbon Street is probably the most well known attraction in New Orleans, though by no means does it accurately represent the rest of the city. One of the most visually appealing neighborhoods in the country, the Quarter is a truly unique, colorful and cultural spectacle to behold. There is plenty of history and fantastic architecture to examine in this pedestrian-oriented area.<br><b>Hotel Features.</b> Constructed in 1848, the gable-sided, brick cottage has been renovated into a guest house with fourteen bedrooms. The courtyard resembles a tropical garden, complete with a banana tree, intricately carved fountains and an abundance of plant-life. A complimentary continental breakfast is served each morning in the serenity of the courtyard. <br><br><b> Guestrooms.</b> Rooms are located in the main house and out-building. Each of the guestrooms are comfortably furnished and feature private baths and air-conditioning.<br><br><b>Expert Tip.</b> About a one-mile walk from the property on the banks of the Mississippi River lies the Aquarium of the Americas, with five major exhibit areas and dozens of smaller aquariums. Visitors can walk through a rainforest complete with birds and piranhas, stroll through an underwater tunnel in the Caribbean Reef exhibit or examine a shark infested re-creation of the Gulf of Mexico.
