The towering oceanfront La Playa Resort in the northern, quieter area of Daytona Beach, Fla., is adjacent to the Bellair Plaza shopping center and is within three miles of both the Ocean Center Convention Center and Ocean Walk Shoppes. The resort is less than eight miles from the Daytona International Speedway, and a convenient eight miles from Daytona International Airport. <br>The A favorite of families looking to enjoy the Florida sun, sand and surf, this nine-story hotel extends a warm invitation to travelers in from a long day at the beach. Pineapple lamps, a symbol of hospitality, potted palms and ceiling fans incorporate a tropical, relaxed ambience in the intimate lobby. <br><br>Guests can enjoy a large indoor splash pool, breakfast buffet at the on-site Veranda Restaurant, and shuffleboard court. The La Playa Resort strives to accommodate the needs of every guest by offering various amenities, including covered parking, a 24-hour front desk, laundry facilities and meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 300 people. Organized daily activities include children's movies, poolside bingo, tie-dyeing, beach walks, water aerobics and sand creations (surcharges may apply). Guests receive complimentary access to a fitness center less than three miles off-site at a partner hotel. <br><br>Each of the resort's 238 guestrooms feature balconies with either beach or pool views, in-room safes and complimentary dial-up Internet access. Upon request, rooms can be furnished with microwave ovens, refrigerators and coffeemakers.
