Cedar Key Bed & Breakfast is located in Cedar Key, Florida. The property and historic building (built in 1880) once belonged to the Eagle Cedar Pencil Mill and was used at that time for housing employees and guests. Lovingly and painstakingly restored, the home once again is offering gracious accommodations as a bed and breakfast. A cable TV/DVD/VCR (surround sound system) is available for guests in the common TV room. A small combo TV/DVD is available for in room use on a first come first serve basis. There is also a broadband Internet access] They have installed a wireless access point, which allows a compatible wireless laptop access to the Internet. Each morning at nine you'll awake to the aroma of wonderful homemade breakfasts served with an assortment of juices, breads, gourmet coffee's and teas. Oven baked "French Toast" and pancakes are served with real maple syrup. Indulge in complimentary tea and a "Bottomless Cookie Jar" each afternoon and evening. Enjoy nostalgic privacy away from the mainstream of everyday existence on the delightful veranda with its view of the Gulf, and a spacious back yard canopied by a 400 year old live oak tree. Relax in one of six tastefully decorated rooms in the main house or the "Honeymoon Cottage." All rooms feature high ceilings with paddle fans, lace curtains, and the most comfortable beds this side of heaven. All rooms are centrally air-conditioned and have private baths. | Area Attractions
Cedar Key was one of the first seaports in Florida. It's the second oldest city in Florida. Today it is famous for it's clam farming. Cedar Key has many outstanding seafood restaurants. Cedar Key residents and visitors enjoy a slow paced way of life. Kayaking is very popular on the island. There are many outer uninhabited islands that are easily accessible by kayak, canoes or other types of small craft (Kayaks, canoes & small power boats are available for rent in town). Cedar Key has an interesting history and you can learn about the history at the museums in town. The sunsets are spectacular. Be sure to bring your cameras. There are many little shops along Dock Street. Many of the shops feature the crafts of local artisans. You are sure to find just the right something to bring home to your friends and family. There are several natural springs where you can swim with the Manatees (Crystal River, Manatee Springs and others). If you enjoy scuba diving, you will love diving and exploring the many underwater caves found in the natural springs in the area around the Suwannee River. |

810 3rd Street, Cedar Key, FL - From St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport: Depart airport going west on Airport Parkway. Stay straight to go onto Roosevelt Boulevard/FL-686 West. Turn slightly right onto US-19 North. Merge onto US-19 North via the ramp on the left and continue for 106.5 miles. Turn left onto Southeast 2nd Avenue/FL-24 and continue to follow FL- 24 for 21.5 miles. Turn right onto 3rd Street and continue until you reach the property. |
