The Asterias Beach Hotel is a modern hotel complex set in lush gardens on the white sandy beach of Makronisso, four kilometres from a 16th-century monastery The 197 guestrooms are decorated in neutral colours and contemporary furnishings; all include balconies with inland or sea views. Modern amenities include air conditioning, cable television, direct- dial phones, hair dryers, complimentary toiletries, microwaves, and safes.
Guests can bronze on the terraces, cool off with a dip in the pool and escape the midday sun with drinks and cocktails at the poolside bar. Children are well- catered for with a kid's club, paddling pool and playground. Approximate driving time is 45 minutes and distance is 20 miles / 32 kilometers.
A taxi from the airport to the hotel costs approximately CYP 20.00.
No rail system is currently running on Cyprus. However, buses are reasonably priced and connect most of the main points on the island. Guests can also rent bicycles and scooters from the hotel to explore the island's attractions. |
