The Maritim Hotel Mauritius is a thatched resort hotel set in a 25-hectare tropical park overlooking the island's only national marine park, Turtle Bay, 12 kilometres from the capital of Port Louis. The 221 sea- facing, Mauritian-themed guestrooms all feature scenic terraces and balconies and are equipped with Internet connections, (surcharge), DVD players, satellite television, direct-dial phones, minibars and safes. Bathrooms include showers and hair dryers.
Guests can take in views of the Indian Ocean and stretch out on the white sands of the hotel's 500-metre private beach. Nearby attractions include the bustling capital Port Louis and Grand Bay, which are both 12 kilometres away. The island's biggest Hindu temple, Maheswarnath, can be found within three kilometres. Plaisance International Airport is 60 kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 45 minutes.

Driving Directions
The hotel can organise helicopter and taxi transfers to and from the airport. Alternatively, taxis from the airport to Port Louis cost approximately 1,000 MUR, and buses also run to the capital every 30-60 minutes for approximately 300 MUR per trip. Taxis, bicycles and rented scooters are the best modes of transport to explore the island, other than by foot.
Driving directions: Take the main M1 motorway from the airport and drive through Port Louis. At the Terre Rouge roundabout, turn left into Arsenal Road and then follow the signs to the hotel. |
