Driving Directions
Taxis or dolmus (shared taxis) are available from the airport. The metro runs from the airport to Zeytinburnu, from where trams run to Sultanahmet. The hotel is signposted from the tram stop. Istanbul has a very cheap public transport system which includes buses, suburban trains and a metro. Yellow taxis and shared taxi minibuses, called dolmuses, are also plentiful. Ferries are available on the Bosphorus.
Driving directions: From the airport follow signs for Sirkeci. Continue for one kilometre and then follow the coast road for 12 kilometres. On seeing signs for Sultanahmet, turn left and then right and follow the road until the tramline. After the first traffic lights turn left, turn left a second time and then left again. |
