The Scandic Backadal is a modern environmentally friendly hotel situated by the E6 motorway within five kilometres of Gothenburg city centre. This seven-floor hotel features 232 guestrooms, all of which are decorated in a fresh Scandinavian style with wooden floors and environmentally friendly furnishings. In-room amenities include televisions with pay movies, clock radios, Internet points and hair dryers. Bathrooms either have baths or showers.
After a day's sightseeing, guests can wind down in the hotel's relaxation area which is decorated in a Scandinavian style with wood-panelled walls and ceiling. Facilities include an indoor swimming pool and traditional sauna. The pool area is surrounded by deckchairs where guests can relax with a drink from the lobby bar. Active guests benefit from the use of a modern gym with a range of equipment for both aerobic exercise and weight training. Kids will be kept amused in Sigge's playroom where there are plenty of toys and a video corner; the playroom is next to the restaurant so adults can relax over lunch whilst kids play in safety. The contemporary restaurant, with its high ceilings and central fireplace, serves international dishes both a la carte and buffet style; the hotel also has a lobby bar. Business guests enjoy access to 12 meeting rooms able to accommodate up to 200 people. Guests arriving by car will appreciate free parking spaces both outside the hotel and in the garage. Gothenburg Landvetter Airport is 20 kilometres away with an approximate driving time of 20 minutes.

Taxis are available from outside the arrivals terminal and Flygbussarna Airport buses run from the airport to the city centre. Public transport links the hotel to the centre of Gothenburg with a bus stop just outside the hotel going direct to the city. The city centre is easily explored on foot or using the excellent tram and bus network. |
