The contemporary Praia D'El Rey Golf and Beach Resort is set on the coast in 600 acres of lush grounds, 500 metres from the beach and 15 kilometres from Obidos lagoon. The resort's 40 smart villa-style apartments are modern and airy, extending to garden or poolside terraces with golf course or ocean views. All offer two bathrooms, kitchens equipped with cookware, fridges, microwaves and washing machines, and living areas with direct-dial phones, CD players, DVD players, satellite TV and housekeeping.
The resort's health and beauty spa, offers pampering treatments and a hair salon. It also has two heated pools, a full gym, hot tubs, saunas and steam baths. Children can amuse themselves in the games room and playground or join the kids' club, and families can picnic in the resort's lush gardens. In the evenings live music and cocktails can be enjoyed in the hotel's variety of bars. Guests arriving by car enjoy free parking. Golfers can play on the resort's 18-hole championship course, and there are seven all-weather tennis courts and a tennis centre on the property. For the adventurous various water sports are offered on the resort's four-kilometre stretch of private beach. The Links Restaurant and Bar, set in the clubhouse with views over the course and ocean, serves a variety of meals and drinks throughout the day and caters for vegetarians and children. There is also a modern, Mediterranean restaurant and a Bar and Grill, with cocktails and live music, open daily for lunch and dinner. Obidos Lagoon is eight kilometres from the hotel and also offers water sports. Tourists can visit the quaint fishing village of Peniche, ten kilometres away, and explore Obidos Medieval Town, 15 kilometres away. Lisbon (Portela) International Airport is 130 kilometres and an hour's drive away. Taxis are available outside the airport, but hiring a car is recommended.

| Driving Directions
Driving directions: Leaving the airport take the first right exit off the roundabout 2 Circular. Once on the motorway, exit after 1.5 kilometres for the A8 to Loures/Leiria. Follow signs for Torres Vedras, Lourinha, Bombarral, Peniche, Obidos and Caldas de Rainha. Leave the motorway after the toll at Exit 13 for Peniche. Turn left at the T-junction. Drive two kilometres under a bridge and turn at the sign for Peniche. Follow this road for nine kilometres until the village of Serra D'El Rei. Turn right in the village centre at the sign for Praia D'El Rey and follow the signs from here. |
