A historical building which retains many of its original medieval features, the Solar do Castelo is situated within the 18th century walls of São Jorge Castle, and 800 metres from the city centre. The 14 air-conditioned guestrooms are decorated in a contemporary style with design furniture and come equipped with cable television, safes, hair dryers, and Internet connections. Bathrooms include hair dryers, bathrobes and toiletries.
Guests can browse complimentary newspapers in the hotel's library or small courtyard garden, or relax by the fountain on the patio. Driving Directions
From Lisbon International Airport:
The Carris AeroBus number 91 departs every 20 minutes to the Cais do Sodré railway station (journey time is about 20 minutes). Tickets can be purchased on board and cost approx. 16 euros. The Aerobus also runs to Rossio Square, from where bus 37 goes to São Jorge Castle.
Lisbon's trams are an essential part of the city's charm, as are the three funiculars. There are also trains, a rapidly expanding underground system and buses, which run into the night. Excessive traffic in the city centre means that it is often best explored on foot. |
