The Britania is a fully restored Art Deco townhouse hotel designed by famous Portuguese modernist architect Cassiano Branco, and located 50 metres from Lisbon's Avenida da Liberdade and less than a kilometre from the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, one of Europe's finest collections of modern art. The 30 guestrooms all have restored Art Deco marble and chrome bathrooms with bathrobes, slippers, complimentary toiletries and hair dryers. Rooms are decorated in warm tones with dark wood furnishings and chrome light fittings, and all include air conditioning, minibars, satellite television, safes, direct-dial phones and Internet connections.

Driving Directions
The Carris AeroBus number 91 departs every 20 minutes to the city centre and to the Cais do Sodré railway station (journey time is about 20 minutes). Nearest stop to the hotel is Avenue da Liberdade (50 metres from the hotel). Tickets can be purchased on board for 3 EUR. Taxis are available from outside the airport, approximate fare is 16 EUR.
Driving directions: From Lisbon Airport follow signs for Lisbon centre/downtown. Once you've reached the centre, follow signs for Maques de Pombal. Then follow signs to Rossio square and take the Liberdade Avenue. Turn right in front of the metro station and take the first street on the left for the hotel. |
