Coimbra - steeped in the history and folklore of academia. In the centre of town, you will find the Tivoli Coimbra. Opened in 1991, it is a welcoming four- star hotel, which offers its guests the comfort and quality so characteristic of Tivoli Hotels.
Coimbra is the city with most academic tradition in Portugal and a visit to the Universidade de Coimbra is a must. In the upper part of the city, do not forget a visit to the Machado de Castro Museum - the largest Roman building in the Iberian Peninsula - which houses Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque works of arts, as well as a considerable collection of porcelain.

Coming from the A1 - Lisbon - Oporto, exit the motorway at Coimbra-Sul
After the tool gates, follow Av. Professor Mario Silva towards the
town centre.
Once you have reached the Acude Bridge, exit the first on the right,
towards rua Padre Estevao Cabral, and the junction
with Av. Fernao de Magalhaes
At the second set of traffic lights, turn left
on Rua Manuel Rodrigues until you reach Rua da Sofia
Turn left, pass in front of the law courts and turn left again
You have entered the rua Joao Machado
On your right, you will find the Tivoli Coimbra. |
