The five star Kempinski San Lawrenz Resort & Spa is built from local yellow limestone, designed to resemble traditional Maltese hunting lodges, with its arched windows and small balconies. The hotel is located three kilometres from the Dwejra coastline and the Azure Window (a giant rock arch in the cliffs), and five kilometres from Victoria, the capital of Gozo. Guestrooms have cool stone walls and dark wood furniture, giving an overall rustic feel. All have air conditioning, satellite television, safes, minibars, tea and coffee making facilities, bathrobes and wireless Internet access.
The hotel is set in over 30,000 square meters of lush tropical gardens, complete with date palms, bright flowers and two outdoor pools. The hotel has two restaurants; L' Ortolan is a formal dining room with a dress code (no jeans, shorts, sandals or trainers), and the informal Trattoria San Lawrenz. Both restaurants serve Mediterranean and Maltese cuisine with field fresh vegetables, olives and herbs picked fresh from the resort's own garden. Guests who indulge in an Ayurveda or Spa treatment can request a balanced Ayurvedic or Spa meal from the chef. The Garden Gazebo and Poolbars offers refreshing drinks and poolside cuisine; there are also two pool bars, a cafe and lounge with a sundown cocktail terrace and fine pastries on the menu, as well as 24 hour room service. The hotel also offers services including babysitting, the Gozo Kids Club, Internet café, dive center and a courtesy bus to Dwejra, Ramla and Victoria. The airport is on the neighbouring island of Malta, from where guests can arrange transfers to the hotel by limousine, ferry or helicopter.

On leaving the airport, take the main road to Marsa, which leads to Valletta. The city centre is clearly signposted. From there, follow signs to the ferry port. |
