Borgo La Bagnaia is a resort, spa and conference centre set in a magnificent medieval Tuscan estate, surrounded by 1100 hectares of gardens and countryside, The resort and spa is 12 kilometers from Siena, Italy's best preserved medieval town. Wine lovers will enjoy visiting the Chianti region, which is 25 kilometers away from the hotel. Sightseeing is available in numerous medieval towns and villages in the immediate area. The Florence Vespucci Airport is 82 kilometers from the hotel, or 70 minutes by car.
Borga La Bagnaia, comprised of eight cottages and farm buildings dating back to the 13th century, is a peaceful Tuscan retreat. The 72 guestrooms are individually styled with red and yellow décor, complemented by Chinese and European antiques and custom-made furniture. All rooms are air-conditioned and include satellite television, safes, minibars and Internet connections.
The Buddha Health Spa sits by the spring waters of Santa Caterina, first used by the Siennese in medieval times. Housed in a striking twin-towered travertine building, guests will discover a tranquil space with Asian and classical influences, as well as a pool, high-tech gym, sauna and steam room. The range of available treatments includes skin remedies, purification, and de-stressing hot-stone massage.
Outside, the pool features a travertine stepped waterfall which the Santa Caterina spring water cascades. Here guests can relax with cocktails from the poolside bar or browse complimentary newspapers from the lobby. The hotel restaurant, La Voliera, serves fine regional and Italian cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, either inside in the vaulted dining room or outside on the terrace with panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside.

Driving Directions
Take the Airport shuttle to Florence station, then a train on to Siena. A taxi from Siena station to the hotel takes approximately 15 minutes.
Driving directions: From Florence airport take the A1 exiting at Firenza Certosa. Follow freeway to Siena. From Siena take freeway 223 towards Grossetto. Turn left after 12 kilometres. |
