Set in more than 400 hectares of pinewood forest, the modern Ala Birdi Hotel comprises four hotels, and is located four kilometres from the village of Arborea. The 283 guestrooms, spread between three buildings, feature cream-coloured walls, traditional Sardinian furniture and glass double doors leading onto balconies. Room amenities include air conditioning, cable television, direct-dial phones, minibars, safes and bathrooms with showers and bidets. The half-board room rate includes buffet breakfast and dinner accompanied by mineral water and house wine.
Sun-worshippers can spend a day topping up their tans on the complex's private sandy beach, which is equipped with beach chairs, showers, toilets and cabins. Guests can enjoy drinks and cocktails on the terrace overlooking the freeform freshwater pool, team up on the football pitch or practise their serve on the volleyball court. A supervised mini-club and a kids' pool and playground are provided for younger guests Diners can choose from four restaurants: Il Fasolare offers traditional Sardinian food; international dishes are served in a refined setting at L'Aragosta; barbecued food is served by the beachfront at Il Paguro; and Don Custer is a pizzeria set overlooking the gardens and pool. In the evening, evening guests can choose between four bars and enjoy a programme of live entertainment in the amphitheatre. The club card facility (surcharge) enables guests to partake in daytime and evening entertainment, canoes and pedaloes, group swimming, surf and sailing lessons and the miniclub. The hotel is also home to a horse- riding school. The modern conference room is able to accommodate meetings or social events of up to 400 people. Those arriving by car will find complimentary parking facilities on site. Guests can visit the village of Arborea, four kilometres away, or the towns of Cagliari and Elmas, both of which are 85 kilometres away. Cagliari Airport is 85 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of 45 minutes.

Driving Directions
Guests can catch a taxi to the hotel (typical fare approx. 85 EUR one way). Minibuses are also available for groups of five to eight people, and should cost around 215 EUR. The nearest train station is at Oristano 12 kilometres away.
Driving directions: From the airport, take the SS131 for 55 kilometres. Continue on the SP44 for two kilometres then the SS131 for 19 kilometres. Turn left into SP52 and continue along SP49. Turn right into Strada 24 Ovest and the hotel is 1.5 kilometres down the road. |
