Set on the coast 30 kilometres from Naples, the small Hotel Fontana offers bright family-run accommodation overlooking Amalfi's town square. The 21 summery, Italian-style guestrooms have white-washed walls, mottled stone floors and classical paintings hanging on the walls on the walls. Some rooms have balconies, with views either of the town square and the cathedral, or the sea. Rooms also have private bathrooms, satellite televisions, telephones, minibars and air conditioning.
Guests can enjoy a buffet breakfast in the hotel, and have access to a private beach nearby. This hotel has two restaurants: Il Tari is a typical Italian restaurant serving daily fish and meat specials, with good-value set menus; Il Doge d'Amalfi is a relaxed bar/café serving snacks, pizzas and sandwiches. There is parking available nearby, and a safe is available for use at reception. Room service is available at certain times; airport transfers can also be arranged. The town's main sights, including the cathedral and the armouries, are just across the square from the hotel. The closest airport is Naples Airport approximately 40 kilometres away.

| Driving Directions
Buses run from the airport to Naples train station, where trains run to Salerno. From here, a bus connects with the town of Amalfi. Taxis are also available from the airport. From Naples, follow directions for the A3 motorway, and join it in the direction of Salerno. Exit at Vietri sul Mare, following signs for Amalfi. The hotel is in the town square. |
