The Iris Hotel & Studios complex is a modern, colourful family hotel set on a hillside 300 metres from the town centre and one kilometre from Afandou Beach. This three- floor hotel features 54 guestrooms furnished in a modern style with light beige walls and coloured drapes. All extend to furnished balconies or terraces and include direct-dial phones, bathrooms with showers, and kitchenettes with cookers and refrigerators. Air- conditioning and fans are available on request (surcharge).
After breakfast, guests can soak up some sun next to the pool and cool off with drinks from the poolside bar, or relax with a coffee on the terrace and take in views of Afandou Bay. The informal restaurant, open for breakfast and lunch, serves a variety of international and Greek dishes, with vegetarian and children's menus available. The hotel houses a playground and a kids' pool for younger guests, a games room with a pool table and table tennis, a television lounge and a bar serving a selection of local and international drinks. The front desk is open 24 hours a day, and transport to and from the airport is available (surcharge). Afandou beach, one kilometre from the hotel, offers wind-surfing, jet-skiing and snorkelling, and golfers will find the nearest course two kilometres from the hotel. Those wishing to venture further afield than Afandou will find the lively town of Faliraki five kilometres away and Rhodes City 20 kilometres away. More sedate entertainment can be found at the Valley of the Butterflies and Seven Springs, both within eight kilometres. Rhodes - Diagora airport is 20 kilometres from the hotel, and be reached by car in approximately 20 minutes.

Taxis are readily available at the terminal and airport transfers can also be arranged by the hotel. The best way to explore Afandou is on foot, and bicycles and scooters are available to hire from the hotel. Hire cars are recommended for travelling further afield. |
