Les Balcons d'Aspin is a rustic country house style hotel set in peaceful location in the Hautes-Pyrenees, three kilometres from Lourdes, and 30 kilometres from the ski resort of Luz Ardiden. The 60 guestrooms have a simple modern décor with white walls, exposed wood beams and patterned fabrics. All are equipped with direct-dial phones, televisions and bathrooms.
With panoramic windows overlooking the gardens, the hotel restaurant serves a range of international dishes and regional specialities in the main dining room or on the terrace by the pool. After a day in the mountains guests can relax and sip hot chocolate at the bar or in front of the lobby television. In summer months there are barbecues outside. The more energetic can make use of the hotel leisure facilities and go for a dip in the indoor heated swimming pool, play boules, enjoy a game of pool, or just go for a quiet stroll in the woods. The front desk can organise wake up calls and has a safe-deposit box for valuables. Parking is free. There are many opportunities for mountain activities in the vicinity. The ski resorts of Luz Ardiden and Cauterets are 30 kilometres away, as is the Pont d'Espagne (the old trade route into Spain), and the village of Gavarnie and the Cirque de Gavarnie, the highest waterfall in Europe, are 50 kilometres away. Closer to the hotel, the sanctuaries of Lourdes are three kilometres away. Lourdes airport is 13 kilometres from the hotel. The best way to get to the hotel is by taxi, which can be found outside the airport. There are three trains daily from Paris' Gare d'Austerlitz to Lourdes, as well as trains from larger cities around France and buses from regional towns. The train station is three kilometres from the hotel, a five minute drive.
