Nestled among 14 acres of lush tropical gardens in historic Soldiers Bay, the Blue Waters Antigua in St. John's, Antigua, provides a holiday retreat among the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. Located on the island's northern tip, Antigua was home to the British fleet during colonial times. Today the island is a vacation destination known for its powdery beaches and outstanding sailing. The Blue Waters Antigua is four miles from St. John's, the island's capital and tourist center for shopping, restaurants and nightlife.
An intimate, family-owned hotel, the Blue Waters Antigua is one of Antigua's longest-established resorts and has been a favorite spot for British families on holiday. The hotel features 77 guestrooms, suites and villas in nine two-story buildings. Flanked by thick tropical gardens, all accommodations feature balconies or ground- floor patios furnished with lounge chairs and dining sets. Offering views of the Caribbean Sea, guestrooms are decorated with pale walls, ceilings and tile, mixed with tropical fabrics. Bathrooms feature gleaming marble-finish tile and English toiletries from Gilchrist & Soames.
The Blue Waters Antigua includes a private bay with two secluded beaches where guests can enjoy kayaks, windsurfers and snorkeling. Other amenities include an all-weather tennis court, air- conditioned fitness center, beauty salon and spa, and game room. Three freshwater pools are also available, all featuring sundecks and loungers. An 18-hole golf course is located two miles away, and sailing excursions can be booked at the resort.
The Blue Waters Antigua offers complimentary breakfast buffets and afternoon tea, and includes two restaurants and three bars. The Palm Restaurant is an open-air establishment with spectacular views of the bay, and serves meals throughout the day. Vyvien's Restaurant is for adults only and features intimate linen-service for dinner only.
