| Driving Directions
* Take State highway from Rotorua signposted to Whakatane
and the Rotorua airport.
This is a 4 lane divided road leading from the City center
and becoming Te Ngai Road.
Approx 4Km from Rotorua central there is a large traffic
roundabout. Turn right.
This is signposted Tarawera Road and also to the Buried
Villag and to the Blue and Green lakes.
Drive along this scenic road past the Blue and Green lakes
and the Buried Village (about 10Km or 14 minutes from
theroundabout). 2km past the Buried village the road turns
right to Tarawera Landing or goes straight ahead? this is
Spencer Road and is clearly signposted at the junction.
Drive about 5 Km from the junction and you will see
Stoney Point reserve on your right. This is a boat ramp,
park, children*s playground etc.
199 is 400m past Stoney point on your right. Come down
the drive to the Lodge at the Lake*s edge.
The drive from the city to 199 is about 20 minutes past
30wonderful lakes and huge tree ferns and native bush.
Take time to stop for snaps along the way as it is
so scenic.
