Location. Tucked away on a secluded beach at the southern end of Patong Beach in Phuket, Thailand, the Amari Coral Beach Resort and Spa, Phuket, features panoramic views of Patong Bay. Surrounded by the gentle sounds of swaying palm trees and calm waters, the resort lies 15 kilometers from Phuket town.
Regarded as the main tourist destination of Phuket, Patong Beach boasts most of the city's nightlife and inexpensive shopping. The area is also known for its gay scene and Kathoey, or ladymen, male-to-female trangender people in Thailand. Phuket town features such attractions as the Phuket Butterfly Farm and Aquarium and historic "Old Phuket area," characterized by its Sino-Portuguese architectural style. Phuket International Airport can be found 50 kilometers away.
