Location. Located one kilometer from Tiananmen Square, the world's largest public square, in Beijing, China, the Beijing Hwa Apartment Hotel lies in the commercial center of the city, 33 kilometers from Beijing Capital Airport. Tiananmen Square, site of the infamous 1989 massacre of 2,000 student demonstrators by Chinese troops, sits adjacent to the Forbidden City, a walled area that houses the palaces of 24 emperors in the Ming and Qing dynasties. The space used to be closed to the public, but now serves as a tourist-packed museum. Wangfujing Avenue, China's most famous commercial street since 1949, stretches out two kilometers from the hotel.
Hotel Features. The on-site Hua wei restaurant serves continental and Chinese cuisine, and guests can relax with drinks in the lobby bar. Guests can also play games of table tennis or billiards, work out in the fitness center and unwind in the indoor pool and sauna.

Expert Tip. For $1.25, a yellow tram that leaves from the Xinhua Bookstore at the south end of Wangfujing Avenue will take you on a five-mile, 45-minute loop around the area.
