Location. The Grand View Garden Hotel is Beijing, China, is adjacent to the Daguanyuan, which is a famous garden recreated in the 1980s from a classic Chinese novel, "A Dream of Red Mansions," by a Qing Dynasty writer Cao Xueqin (17l5-l763). In the garden, guests can marvel at the Buddhist temple, rockeries and a large lake and also take tea from the many stands along the way. The hotel is located eight kilometers southwest of central Beijing and Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Hotel Features. The Grand View Garden Hotel features many interesting dining options. They include Les Continents for European cuisine, the Pavillon Restaurant for hot pot and Rong Court, which specializes in Cantonese cuisine and features a recreation of the classic banquet scene in the "A Dream of Red Mansions" novel. Glutinous rice wine, braised eggplant and seared pigeon egg are a few of the period dishes painstakingly recreated from the novel. The Chances Discotheque and karaoke bar is available for after dinner entertainment. The Garden Lounge and Lobby Bar serves drinks a more tranquil atmosphere and the Embroidery Lounge features live piano music. For event planning, the Grand View Garden features conference rooms accommodating up to 400 guests. An indoor pool, gymnasium, sauna and steam bath round out the hotel's facilities.
Guestrooms. 384 luxuriously appointed guestrooms and international fine dining and entertainment facilities. Guestrooms feature international-direct-dialing telephones and satellite television for staying in touch. Room service and laundry/dry cleaning services are available in the guestrooms. Non-smoking guests will appreciate the smoke-free guestrooms.
Expert Tip. The Grand View Garden covers 110,000 square meters was built for the imperial concubine Jia Yuanchun, where she would received her relatives.
