The Modern, Moorish-style Hotel Dar Khayam is built around a pool with gardens leading onto a private beach, six kilometres from the centre of Hammamet. The 292 sunny guestrooms have light decor and simple furnishings and all extend onto balconies or terraces with garden, pool or sea views. All rooms feature televisions (surcharge), phones with free local calls and bathrooms with baths or showers and bathrobes.
Guests can sunbathe on the palm-lined, furnished terrace by the pool or head down to the private beach, where they can cool down with refreshing drinks from the Beach Hut bar, visit the dive centre or try their hand at waterskiing. If the weather isn't great, guests can swim in the indoor pool, watch television in the lobby lounge or unwind in the Khayam Wellness Centre, which houses Turkish baths, a jetted tub and a sauna, and offers massage and beauty treatments. Younger guests have access to a playground and their own separate children's pool, and will be kept busy by a dedicated entertainment team. In the evenings, adults can enjoy folklore shows, cabaret and live music. At mealtimes, a buffet of international dishes, including spicy Tunisian specialities, is on offer in the colourful, informal Citrus Restaurant. The hotel shares leisure and sports facilities with its neighbouring sister hotel, Omar Khayam. Organised sports at the hotel include archery, waterpolo, basketball and volleyball. Kids can play mini golf, while adults can go for sunset horse rides along the beach. Fitness enthusiasts can take aerobics classes, work out in the gym or play tennis on one of three courts. Free parking is available for guests arriving by car. Guests can go shopping at the bazaar, 300 metres from the hotel, or enjoy a family day out at the Carthage Land theme park, ten kilometres away. Golfers will find the Citrus and Yasmine courses both within 12 kilometres. Tunis-Carthage Airport is 60 kilometres from the hotel and can be reached by car in approximately one hour.
