The Hilton Borg El-Arab Resort is a salmon-pink and white complex set on white sandy beaches overlooking the Mediterranean, 15 kilometres from the city centre. This three-floor hotel features 227 guestrooms and suites, all of which have Mediterranean-style decor and tiled floors and extend to balconies with ocean views. In-room amenities include satellite TV, Internet connections, minibars and bathrooms with shower/tub combinations and toiletries.
On hot days, guests can soak up the sun on the pool deck or stroll down to the 120-metre white-sand beach and laze on a lounger. Fitness enthusiasts can visit the health club which comprises gym equipment, a sauna and a massage room; indulgent beauty treatments are also available. Driving Directions
The hotel offers a limousine service that is available on request to pick up guests from the airport (approx. 20 USD one way). Taxis are available at the airport and should also cost around 20 USD to the hotel. Borg El-Arab is small enough to explore on foot. The nearest train station to the hotel is in Bahig, which can be reached by minibus taxi, inexpensive but confusing for first-time visitors unfamiliar with fares and routes. Private-hire taxis are also available, but can be expensive, so fares should be negotiated in advance. An efficient rail network links the Nile Valley, Delta and Canal Zone.
Driving directions: From the airport, follow signs for Km 52, the Alexandria/Matrouh road. The hotel is located on this road, immediately after Marakia Village. |
