The Marhaba Palace Hotel is a whitewashed building with views over the Nile and the desert. The 78 simply furnished guestrooms include air conditioning, satellite television, Internet connections and minibars.

Trains in Egypt are reliable and affordable. It takes about 900 kilometres from Aswan to Rameses Station in Cairo, and 12 hours by train (nine hours to Luxor). Sleeper services are available. |
